Abstract

The hydraulic performance of a drinking water distribution system is highly influenced by pressure and headloss because both parameters determine the ability of the network to deliver water continuously and efficiently to consumers. This study aims to evaluate the pressure and headloss characteristics of the Booster Jatayu service area of Perumdam Tirta Mayang, Jambi City, using EPANET 2.2. Secondary data consisting of 37 junctions, 40 pipe segments, pipe diameters ranging from 110 mm to 350 mm, elevation, demand, and a Hazen-Williams roughness coefficient of 140 were used in the simulation. The results indicate that pressure values vary from 0.16 m to 30.46 m, while unit headloss ranges from 0.41 m/km to 7.18 m/km. Several junctions experience relatively low pressure due to elevation differences and energy losses along the pipelines. Overall, the distribution network is capable of supplying water to customers; however, optimization of several pipe sections is required to improve pressure distribution and reduce hydraulic energy losses.
